A Huge THANK YOU - NYAWEH KOWA - to Supporters!

Dear Friends and Supporters!  A month has almost passed since I posted a message advertising the Promotional Concert which was held at the Ka'nikonhriyohtshera Learning Center & Healing Lodge and put on by Tribu, the Kichwa Indian group from Ecuador and Oneida Grammy Award winning singer, Joanne Shenandoah.  The concert was a success and yes, we expected more people to be able to attend but I think that the thundershowers may have scared some people away from this outdoor event.  Nevertheless, we had about 85 people (of all ages...children, adults, local elders) in attendance which was pretty good, given the short time we had to advertise.  But, don't worry, a choice to make this summer concert an annual event was announced that night!  So, look for the Lodge's Summer Concert series next August, 2012 and next year, we'll give you more notice.  But, before I sign off, I just want to mention something really interesting about the whole evening....we had people in the audience who came from the United States and as far away as Toronto, Ontario just for the evening!  All in all, we had a great time and listened to some very melodic and inspiring music from both Joanne and Willan Portillo, as the lead singer for Tribu.  And so, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all the supporters, friends and patrons of Ka'nikonhriyohtshera....and watch for the photos of that night which will be posted real soon as a special page on my website!  BE well...
